ANNOUNCEMENT – Vancouver, November 6th, 2008 – Utopia Academy announces affiliation with Somatic Exploration Inc. to introduce Cadaver Lab Gross Anatomy Education as an integral aspect of it’s curriculum.
Utopia Academy massage therapy students will now be able to relate textbook anatomical sketches and drawings to real human gross anatomy. Randy Persad Dean of Education explains, ‘Gross anatomy education has always been associated with medical training. Now, through our affiliation with Somatic Explorations Inc. massage therapy students have an opportunity to really understand anatomy, from the 2 dimensional textbook drawings to the 3 dimensional aspects of gross anatomy in the lab. This level of education prepares our students with a much higher sense of confidence to meet the myriad demands of entry level practice.’
Chris Hagey, President of Somatic Explorations Inc agrees when he says, ‘As a registered massage therapist myself, I know how frustrating it can be for students and health care practitioners to really understand gross anatomy. I am proud to be in a position where I can provide a forum for learning gross anatomy to students and practitioners.
